A small light box with the text SILENCE, used especially in situations where it is required to be quiet, not to talk or not to produce other sounds, creates new contexts in the gallery environment. It is a work with the memory of the viewer, who is aware of its original function and at the same time induces a new situation of silence. Is this stilling a preparation for a certain kind of experience that will follow, or an opportunity to accept the challenge of personal stilling? Or is it a contrast to the hustle and bustle outside the exhibition space? Or does SILENCE open up yet another level of communication?
