Lučenec Synagogue / Synagóga Lučenec, 2017
In this project I was working with the memory of a place.
The Lučenec synagogue is the largest in Central Europe, and on my first visit in the reconstructed and preserved white-painted building I was conscious of a tremendous empty space. In the limited time during the opening of the exhibition I performed a “work of Sisyphus”: into previously prepared cardboard boxes I wrapped and marked emptiness, which I placed upon a shelf.
